Kiyozaburo Uehara, the originator of Azabu Kawagoeya, started working with Kamekichi Otaka, founder of carlings store.
1889
Kiyozaburo founded carling store in Iikura-machi in Azabu
1923
Eitaro Uehara, a successor to Kiyozaburo, moved to current head quarter address
1951
Kawagoeya K.K. was founded with capital of 0.5 million yen
1955
Eiichi Uehara, a successor to Eitaro, became the president
1968
Increased capital to 3 million yen
Opened a store in Hihonbashi Takashimaya
1979
Increased capital to 5 million yen
1990
100 year anniversary
Changed company name to Azabu Kawagoeya
